First IETF in Bangalore Opens With Increased Participation

The 18th International Engineering & Technology Fair (IETF 2009) organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) started on optimistic note despite the Global Economic meltdown. This is evident from the increased number of participants, who showcased their technologies and products. Organised for the first time outside Delhi, the event attracted more number of participant countries, companies and delegates compared to previous events. Representing the partner country of the event Ms. Elizabeth Thabethe, Deputy Minister for Trade & Industry, South Africa, said, " We are partner country for the show for second time and this explains our renewed interest in boosting bilateral trade and business with India.  South Africa is looking forward to value added products and more JVs in the immediate future. As of now South African exports to India mostly consist of minerals and ores." South Africa has put up an impressive International Pavilion with 70 South African exporters and technology of world class standards including Aerospace, Marine, Defense, Steel, Electro technical and Manufacturing Technologies.
