Symantec Inaugurates New Center of Innovation in Pune, to double India Footprint

Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today inaugurated its new research & development center in Pune, India.  John W. Thompson, Symantec chairman and CEO, along with local executives and officials were gathered today at the Symantec India Center of Innovation to celebrate the launch of the new-state-of-the-art facility spread over five acres of prime land in Baner, Pune.

 
 

The first phase of the facility has the capacity for approximately 650 technical staff and engineers from Symantec's R&D, IT, and technical support teams in India. The second phase due to be completed by the end of the year will then accommodate more than 1,500 employees with plans to expand further into the future.
