Amaron Karting Challenge Season 2 to Begin in August at Chennai |

The top three winners of Amaron Karting Challenge 2008 will receive scholarships worth Rs. 10 Lakhs. It features EVO AE 1 karts with the latest version of Subaru 4 stroke engines. More than 2000 teenage hopefuls are expected to race it out to grab the podium at the Grand Finale and the chance to be groomed for an international racing career.
The Amaron Karting Challenge season 2 is all set to start off at Chennai on 23rd August at Kart Attack with an enticing theme that urges karting enthusiasts to find their calling in racing. To be held at 7 cities across the country, the Challenge has become larger and is expected to pull in over 2000 amateur karters on to the tracks over 7 weekends right up to December and close with the Grand Finale in Bangalore on 11th January 2009 (Refer to the enclosed schedule for full calendar). Featuring custom made EVO AE 1 karts with the latest version of Subaru 4 stroke engines, the Challenge promises not just more excitement and fun for the participants, but also a feel of real racing. The eligibility criteria for the Amaron Karting Challenge 2008 -
1. Children between 12 and 16 years of age with a valid school identity card
2. Students who haven't been on the podium in any of the Karting championship in last 3 years
The registration forms can be accessed through www.amaron.in. Entries for the Chennai Challenge will open on the 5th August ‘08 and will close at midnight on 19th August '08. The first 250 entries in each city will be chosen to participate in the Karting Challenge. They will undergo a practice prior to the event which will be scheduled on the Friday of the race weekend.

Qualification runs of 3 laps for each entrant will be given on the Friday of the event.

The fastest 64 out of the total entries received will qualify for the Heats.

The fastest 64 will be batched into 8 batches with 8 karters in each batch.

The starting grid for the 8 preliminary heats is based on the qualifying times.

The top 4 of each heat will move into the next round of heats, comprising of 4 batches of 8 karters per batch.

There will be 4 heats run in the next round of heats. The top 4 of each of these heats will move into the Semi Finals comprising of 2 batches of 8 karters per batch.

The top 4 of each of these two batches will qualify for the Regional Finals.

The starting grid for the Final is the finishing order and the lap timing of the semi - finals.

The winner of the Grand Finale will earn a full Scholarship in the Amaron Karting Scholarship team which takes part in the Indian Rotax Championship and any other Karting Championship in India.
