REVA Electric Car Company's (RECC) REVAi was launched in New Delhi by Chief Minister of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, Smt Sheila Dikshit. The launch of the advanced REVAi follows on the footsteps of the landmark policy announcement towards emission reduction in the State by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. This will ensure that owners of battery operated vehicles get a host of incentives such as a 15% subsidy on the base price of the vehicle, a 12.5% exemption of VAT and refund of road tax and registration charges.  The initial offer price for the REVAi in Delhi will start from Rs 2, 99,000- on road, depending on the model.

REVA will open its first showroom in South Delhi later this month.  For the first time in the country, it will offer doorstep service to its customers. By using a unique computer system and on board diagnostics, it will ensure that service is quick and maintenance is kept to the minimum.  In addition, it will have a workshop for timely customer service. REVAi comes with optional remote controlled air conditioning & heating along with climate controlled seats, in addition to this there are other options like a CD/ MP3 player, leather seats, central locking system and environment friendly, colour impregnated panels that are scratch and dent proof.  The improved motor in the REVAi comes with a 40% increase in mid-range torque, resulting in better acceleration and climbing and also has a "Boost" mode for short-term acceleration/power. Other features of the REVAi include, improved braking by using advanced regenerative braking and disc brakes, an anti-roll bar for better handling and an advanced IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) with an electronic speedometer, a trip odometer and an automatic computer-controlled indicator for power consumption and regeneration. The new REVAi's technology is now compatible with future ready battery technologies, making it upgradeable.

The rugged two-door hatch back can seat two adults and two children comfortably. It is the most eco-friendly and economical car in the world and offers ease of driving (no clutch or gears), and ease of parking due to easy manoeuvrability leading to a high level of reliability and safety on city roads. It heralds a new era in the technology of electric city mobility -a cost effective, hassle free mode of city mobility with zero pollution.
