JWT India Senior Vice President and Executive Planning Director Mythili Chandrasekar has been awarded the prestigious Patricia Mann Award for Women, a tribute given to only three women from across all countries in the fields of marketing, advertising and media. WPP Advisory Group Member Jeremy Bullmore announced and gave away the awards at a recent ceremony the IPA headquarters in London's Belgravia. With this, Mythili wins $10,000 scholarship to pursue any educational and career development opportunity of her choice. Mythili plans to fulfil a long held dream ¾ participate in an Executive Education Programme in Strategic Marketing Management at Stanford University, USA. Besides her valuable contribution to clients and brands across the JWT service spectrum, Mythili steers Coffee and Donuts, JWT India's knowledge-sharing blog. She is known for her prolific writing and Brand Chakras, the first eastern view of consumer behaviour.
Instituted just this year, the award is open to women with at least 10 years experience in the fields of marketing, advertising and media. The entry required not only substantiation of achievements but also demonstrated evidence of the candidate's further potential for contributing to the industry, and a 1000-word essay on why and what kind of developmental investment the candidate required and how it would benefit her. The trustees and judges comprised highly influential professionals in London. The Mann Award for Women has been set up in memory of Patricia Mann OBE. Mann was a life-time employee of JWT, who began her career as a secretary and rose to become Vice-President of External Affairs. The other two winners were Alison Chadwick, people director at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, and Lee Wright, the managing director of Dare, both based in London.
