Government Support to Usher a Green Delhi with Electric Vehicles |

REVA Electric Car welcomed the incentives for battery operated vehicle owners announced by the Department of Environment and Forests, Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi, as a landmark policy announcement towards emission reduction in the State. The residents of the National Capital Territory of Delhi will now be entitled to a 15% subsidy on the base price of the vehicle, a 12.5% exemption of VAT and refund of road tax and registration charges.
Currently the Government of Chandigarh offers its residents a 15% subsidy on purchase of any electric vehicle; while the Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources, offers subsidies worth Rs. 75,000 for purchase of electric vehicles by government bodies for public institutions, hospitals, educational establishments and use near archaeological or heritage sites.
