Quest Software announced two products that will expand its growing portfolio of unified communications support products. Both MessageStats and Active Roles Server now include support for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.
Quest MessageStats is the first and only full unified communications reporting tool on the market. In addition to Microsoft Exchange Server, MessageStats now can report about Office Communications Server 2007 via a new report pack. The report pack provides information about instant messaging, web conferencing and voice calls by department, reports top calls per user and conducts charge backs for voice calls. Other key benefits include a common reporting console and format for Exchange Server and Office Communications Server 2007, and business-focused reports that verify how Office Communications Server 2007 contributes to overall corporate objectives.
Quest Active Roles Server now includes rules and workflow controls that format and monitor changes to personal information in Active Directory. This ensures that unified communications applications can work effectively. It is important because if Office Communications Server 2007 tries to make a call based off an incorrect phone number in Active Directory, the call will fail. Active Roles Server is also able to provision and de-provision Office Communications Server users, which makes rolling out unified communications faster and less error-prone.
