Dr. Sandeep Sibal Joins Qualcomm India as VP and Country Manager |

Dr. Sandeep Sibal is vice president and country manager of technology for Qualcomm India and South Asia. In this role, he is responsible for driving Qualcomm's wireless technologies and solutions in the region. This includes next generation wireless devices and services based on Qualcomm's technology roadmaps for both CDMA2000 1X/EV-DO and WCDMA/HSPA. Additionally, Dr. Sibal drives the adoption of technology initiatives such as gpsOne, BREW, MediaFLO, and Mobile Commerce within the wireless ecosystem in the region.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Dr. Sibal held the position of Technology Advisor at Reliance Communications since its commercial launch. Before returning to India to join Reliance Communications, Dr. Sibal was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Kirusa Inc, a company that pioneered and continues to be successful in multimodal device user interfaces. He started his career at AT&T Bell Labs and AT&T Shannon Labs in New Jersey. Dr. Sibal has 15 patents to his credit.
Dr. Sibal received his bachelor's of technology degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from IIT Madras, a master's of science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University, and a doctorate degree in Electrical Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, he attended the Executive Program at MIT Sloan School of Management.
