Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) announced its association with COMAT Technologies (P) Ltd (COMAT)., by appointing them as their "Corporate Partner" to offer wide array of insurance services in the rural market. COMAT's well established infrastructure, understanding and experience of the rural market have made them a preferred choice for LIC. The programme is scheduled to start in Karnataka and Haryana with immediate effect and will later be extended to the states of Sikkim , Tripura and gradually to the rest of India . 

Traditionally, individual agents were appointed to create awareness of LIC's services in the rural market. In an effort to provide more services in the rural market, LIC's choose COMAT's Rural Business Centres, which is equipped with professional and trained employees to reach out to rural citizens in more efficient and effective manner.  The objective of the collaboration is to make information on products and services easily available, create high accessibility for trouble-free premium payments and enable smooth settlement of claims in the rural sector.
