EMC India appoints Sundar Balasubramanian as new
GM of Strategy Business Productivity. His new role is one in a series of
investments being made by EMC in high growth markets.
EMC Data Storage Services India announced the appointment of
Sundar Balasubramanian as General Manager, Strategy & Business Productivity
at the EMC India Center of Excellence (COE), EMC's largest R&D centre
outside of North America. Sundar will be responsible for incubating and growing new
products and solutions in high growth markets such as India and will play a strategic
role in developing the COE's product management capabilities for global
markets. Sundar will also oversee image-building of the COE, corporate social
responsibility initiatives, outreach programs with universities and
influencers, and will lead partner relationships for COE-led initiatives.
Sundar will be based in Bangalore
and will report to Sarv Saravanan, Vice President and Managing Director, EMC
India COE.
Prior to joining EMC, Sundar was at Microsoft India where he
was Director of Education and Employability for the Emerging Market Group. During his eight years there, Sundar held
several leadership roles including Head, E-commerce, Director of Partner Group,
and Director of Information Worker Business Group (Office and other
productivity and collaboration products). Sundar is a mechanical engineer from
IIT Mumbai and a MBA from IIM, Calcutta.
