To provide next generation services, the European WAN network, which originally consisted of a SDH topology with a bandwidth of 2.5 GB/sec, is now upgraded to connections consisting of single or even multiple 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) channels. This ensures that 1&1's future network increases as Web hosting continues to grow. The new Lenexa Data Center has the capacity for more than 40,000 servers and enables 1&1 to support rapid customer growth in the United States.
