Hughes And Comat together introduces the first educational program on the Nemmadi Centres with the launch of Maximiser Series for Karnataka Common Entrance Test. It shall allow the rural youth to seek admissions in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy, Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the state of Karnataka.

In a joint initiative Hughes Communications India Ltd and Comat rolls out education programs for rural youths across the 750 Nemmadi centres in 28 districts, 177 taluks and 759 Hoblis in Karnataka. These services include both utilitarian services as well as educational and vocational programs. The first in a series of educational programs that will be introduced at the Nemmadi centres is a preparatory program for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test that will allow the rural youth to seek admissions in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathy, Naturopathy & Yoga, Engineering, Technology and Architecture courses, in institutions within the state of Karnataka.

Comat and 3i Infotech operate over 750 Nemmadi centres across Karnataka to provide e-governance and private services to the rural citizens. Hughes provides connectivity and online B2C services at the Nemmadi centres. The Maximiser Series for Karnataka Common Entrance Test(CET), aims at preparing students of class XI & XII for this coveted exam. This program will be available at all 750 Nemmadi Centers across the state and Hughes expects to enroll over 1000 students for the first batch of CET from Nemmadi Centers. Hughes and Comat have been working together to bring the benefits of information technology closer to people in rural and semi urban areas through numerous initiatives. Today, the consortium already operates over 1300 kiosks across 500 cities, towns and district headquarters.
