Microsoft
Corporate Challenge 2007, inter- corporate team building competition has been
won by Accenture and Bennett Coleman & Co finish second in a closely fought
contest. Each team was put to test for over three days from the night of August
29th to September 1st, across 5 stages, each demanding a combination of
physical strength and mental acumen. Each stage was designed to test a
combination of skills of participants; their ability to communicate
effectively, apply strategy to solve tasks and work cohesively as one unit.
In a nail biting finish, Accenture emerged champions as
around 40 teams faced off in a battle against time, a test of endurance,
physical fitness and effective strategy at the third edition of India's only
inter- corporate team building competition - The Microsoft Corporate Challenge
2007, in Hua Hin, Thailand. Bennet Coleman and Co secured the second place.
Each team was put to test for over three days from the night of August 29th to
September 1st, across 5 stages, each demanding a combination of physical
strength and mental acumen. From running, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking,
negotiating water bodies to light engineering tasks, cracking codes, maps and
board games, the event challenged teams to push themselves to the extreme and
work together as a unit till the end.
This year the Microsoft Corporate Challenge had
heavyweight competitors from across domains like ICICI Bank, Unilever, MICO,
Deutsche Bank, Standard Chartered, Satyam Computer Services, Barclays Bank,
Pepsi Foods, JWT, Reliance Capital, Morgan Stanley, JM Financial, RMZ and
Indiatimes. Standard Chartered Bank emerged victorious in 2006, while Bennett
Coleman and Company finished second and JM Morgan Stanley finished at third
place. The Microsoft Corporate Challenge has been conceptualized and is managed
and produced by Sports Media Limited and DNA Networks. The first edition of the
Microsoft Corporate Challenge was held in Goa in 2005 and the second edition in
2006 was held in Kochi.
