Microsoft
India celebrated its ninth anniversary at Hyderabad. It was established in
Hyderabad in 1998 with about 20 people under the leadership of Srini Koppolu
and today its headcount has reached around 1300.
Microsoft
India Development Center (MSIDC), Hyderabad , celebrated its ninth anniversary.
As part of the celebrations, MSIDC employees showcased their talent at a
cultural program. The evening was marked by a sterling performance by
well-known singer KK who had the crowd on their feet and singing to his tunes.
The program was organized at the Hyderabad International Convention Center
(HICC).
MSIDC,
which is Microsoft's second largest product development center outside its
headquarters in Redmond , commenced operations in Hyderabad in 1998 with about
20 people under the leadership of Srini Koppolu. Today its headcount has
reached around 1300 and the center is working on new products, technologies and
features for Microsoft globally. MSIDC
is a leader in creating intellectual property from India with teams having
end-to-end responsibility on more than 50 Microsoft products, features or
technologies shipped for global markets. The center has filed around 180
patents in the last three years. MSIDC's recent achievements have been with
regard to Windows Vista . Nearly 300 engineers at MSIDC were responsible for
end-to-end ownership of 25 critical components of the OS, including the virtual
private network, routing and remote access service and dynamic host
configuration protocols.
MSIDC
holds end to end responsibility in developing Virtual PC 2007, which was
released in March 2007. MSIDC has also established itself as a Mobility Center
of Excellence having full responsibility for Office Communicator Mobile, SQL
Mobile (recently renamed SQL Everywhere), Office Mobile and Visual Studio for
Devices. The Microsoft RFID platform is being developed in Hyderabad . The
center also has complete responsibility for developing the Data Protection
Manager. The teams have added many significant features to Visual Studio,
Visual Studio Team System, Windows One Care Live, MS-CRM, Office Live,
developed platform components for MSN and expertise on Real Time Collaboration,
Education, Casual Games and Serviceability businesses. They also demonstrated
their expertise in integration of Microsoft Office applications with back-end
ERP systems by developing Microsoft Dynamics SNAP and Duet for Microsoft Office
in association with SAP.
