Fortinet's FortiClientTM end-point security
software earns its sixth consecutive Virus Bulletin 100% award for its
outstanding anti-virus capabilities.
Forticlient Endpoint Security Software receives 100% rating in every
category of Microsoft Windows XP test.
Fortinet®, provider of unified threat management
(UTM) solutions announced that its FortiClient™ end-point security software has
earned its sixth consecutive Virus Bulletin 100% award for its outstanding
anti-virus capabilities. In this test, for anti-virus products running on
Microsoft Windows XP, FortiClient was one of only five of 36 products to earn
the top ranking of 100 percent accuracy in detecting viruses in every category
tested. Well-known in the industry, the Virus Bulletin (VB) 100% awards
recognize products that have been tested by independent experts and proven to
accurately detect 100 percent of viruses known to be “in the wild,”
constituting current, real-world viruses.
Virus
Bulletin experts tested FortiClient version 3.0.412 along with 35 other
anti-virus products for their detection rates, lack of false positives and
speed of scanning. Besides giving Fortinet's client software high marks for
virus detection, Virus Bulletin experts also recognized its flexible
configuration, ease of use and performance. This latest VB 100% award adds to
Fortinet's impressive portfolio of technology certifications and accolades -
including six VB 100% awards, NSS certification for UTM, and eight ICSA
certifications (firewall, anti-virus, IPSec, SSL, Network IPS, client
anti-virus detection, cleaning and anti-spyware).
Fortinet's
FortiClient host security software addresses the need for secure access and
endpoint protection for telecommuters, mobile workers, remote sites and
partners. A unified security agent for personal computers and mobile devices,
FortiClient integrates host anti-virus, host anti-spyware, a personal firewall,
anti-spam, IPSec VPN, Web filtering and registry monitoring. FortiClient
provides native supports the most popular Microsoft WindowsTM operating systems,
including both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Vista, and also includes
network address translation (NAT) traversal, centralized policy management,
multiple policy support for access to multiple devices, strong encryption and a
comprehensive set of tools for troubleshooting. The latest version of
FortiClient also supports 64-bit for both Microsoft Windows XPTM and Windows 2003 Server.
