Fortinet®, provider of unified threat management (UTM) solutions announced that its FortiClient™ end-point security software has earned its sixth consecutive Virus Bulletin 100% award for its outstanding anti-virus capabilities. In this test, for anti-virus products running on Microsoft Windows XP, FortiClient was one of only five of 36 products to earn the top ranking of 100 percent accuracy in detecting viruses in every category tested. Well-known in the industry, the Virus Bulletin (VB) 100% awards recognize products that have been tested by independent experts and proven to accurately detect 100 percent of viruses known to be “in the wild,” constituting current, real-world viruses.

Virus Bulletin experts tested FortiClient version 3.0.412 along with 35 other anti-virus products for their detection rates, lack of false positives and speed of scanning. Besides giving Fortinet's client software high marks for virus detection, Virus Bulletin experts also recognized its flexible configuration, ease of use and performance. This latest VB 100% award adds to Fortinet's impressive portfolio of technology certifications and accolades - including six VB 100% awards, NSS certification for UTM, and eight ICSA certifications (firewall, anti-virus, IPSec, SSL, Network IPS, client anti-virus detection, cleaning and anti-spyware).
