India is quickly becoming the "Design Engineering Hub of the World" and SolidWorks Corporation is helping companies realize the tremendous opportunities in high-value manufacturing design.  SolidWorks announced an increased focus in India to help companies leverage 3D CAD technology to design better products and gain global market share in engineering design. SolidWorks Corporation has fast-tracked its investments and plans in India as it recognizes India's strong growth potential in this space. With its high engineering base, India is well poised to gain the leadership position in the design market and SolidWorks aims to be at the forefront of this exciting opportunity. The appointment of Manoj Mehta as the India country manager marks the start  of  SolidWorks  Corporation's significant expansion plans in India.
 
SolidWorks has embarked on a major expansion drive in India since last year. This year, SolidWorks has aggressive plans to expand its VAR network and increase its India employee headcount. SolidWorks India is headquartered in New Delhi and has direct offices in Bangalore and Mumbai. SolidWorks India will expand from 60 employees in 2006 to over 90 employees in 2007, adding employee  resources to both its research and development  and  support  centre departments. SolidWorks will continue to invest   in  strengthening  its  VAR  network  and  enhancing  the  teams'capabilities to provide excellent sales and service support to customers.
