Buffalo Inc., manufacture of wired and wireless networking, storage and memory solutions announced that it will begin aggressively promoting its market leading Consumer NAS product portfolio in India.  Buffalo leads the market for Consumer NAS for the second consecutive year with 18.3% share, according to a recent report released by In-Stat, a market research firm. A booming economy, higher disposable incomes and increasing adoption of digital lifestyle products and services by consumers, has resulted in a growing volume of precious personal data including family pictures, videos and music files that needs to be backed up reliably. Designed for the higher end, more sophisticated home users who have connected several PCs on a wi-fi network and in many cases are also connecting this network to their home entertainment equipment, Consumer NAS products not only backup data but also enable ‘over-the-internet' sharing of such personal information with close friends and family.

Buffalo 's award-winning line of consumer-focused NAS devices includes the newly released LinkStation Live and TeraStation Live, allow consumers to instantly store, access, backup and share multimedia and other files from any computer on their home.  Both solutions offer an iTunesTM 7 support, which allows iTunes 7 software to access music stored on the devices. The products also enable users to store photos and videos directly from a digital camera. These are designed to DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) guidelines so customers can access videos, photos or music stored on them and play it back on any device designed to DLNA guidelines in the home.  Both products also offer ultra fast transfer rates of up to 35MB/s.  For even better performance, the products also include a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Port and Gigabit Jumbo Frame Support.  Both devices have two USB 2.0 ports that can accommodate additional external USB hard drives for expanded networked storage or as backup targets.

The TeraStation Live includes five operational modes: Standard, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10 for increased performance with fault tolerance by spreading data across the four separate drives with uniformity to allow simple data recovery in the event of drive failure. The LinkStation Live is available in capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 750GB. The TeraStation Live is available in capacities of 1TB, 2TB and 3TB.  All of Buffalo 's NAS devices are Windows and Macintosh compatible and feature MemeoTM AutoBackup software for additional data protection. Backed up by two years warranty, the new LinkStation Live is currently available at estimated street prices of INR 19,380/-  for the 250GB (HS-DH250GL), INR 22,448/- for the 320GB (HS-DH320GL), INR 28,800/- for the 500GB (HS-DH500GL) and INR 58,140/-  for the 750GB (HS-DH750GL).  The TeraStation Live is also available at estimated street prices of INR 55,590/- for the 1TB (HS-DH1.0TGL/R5) and INR 90,000/- for the 2TB (HS-DH2.0TGL/R5).
