Yatra Online Pvt. Ltd., the travel service company ties up with Hughes, the provider of broadband satellite networks and services. Through this tie up, Yatra's travel related services including Air Tickets and Hotels/Packages would be made available via select HughesNet Fusion centers in the country. This alliance shall play a significant role in offering greater accessibility of Yatra.com services to a larger section of the market and help satiate the growing appetite of travel by the Indian middle class.

Yatra Online Pvt. Ltd., the travel service company, announced its tie up with Hughes, the provider of broadband satellite networks and services. Through the alliance, Yatra's travel related services including Air Tickets and Hotels/Packages would be made available via select HughesNet Fusion centers in the country. The alliance is a symbiotic relationship where HugheNet Fusion Centers would act as extended retail points to  offer Yatra.com's travel services with an integrated offline cash acceptance model of Hughes. Customers who are more comfortable with an offline payment mode shall be able to avail the services Yatra.com currently offers online through 28 HughesNet Fusion centres across the country by paying cash.  Through the tie up, Yatra.com hopes to enlarge its customer base by tapping customers who may be reluctant to use credit cards or do not have one. Customers shall have the ease to book from over 1500 hotels and resorts across 140 cities in India , and all domestic airlines with instant confirmations. For further convenience a special phone line has been set up for customers booking through Hughes centers in case they have any queries in regard to their bookings.

Online travel market is expected to grow from $796mil in 2006 to $2.0bil by 2008. Online hotel sales account for 6% of total sales and expected to increase to 10% by 2008. While the travel market in India is flourishing, the needs of the Indian travelers are still under-served. It is difficult for Indian travelers to find, compare and select best hotel packages and deals, and make reservations at the lowest cost and finest service. This initiative by Yatra.com offering services through HughesNet Fusion centers will try and bridge in the gap.
