McAfee Inc. products received
top positions in eWeek Magazine's 2006 channel products of the year survey. The
McAfee Total Protection for small business achieve first place in software as a
service category. McAfee SiteAdvisorTM, McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention and
McAfee IntruShield® attained second position in their respective categories.
McAfee Inc. announced that
four McAfee® products received honors in eWeek Magazine's annual "Product
Power of the Channel" survey. McAfee Total ProtectionTM for Small Business
took first place in the Software as a Service category. McAfee SiteAdvisorTM,
McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention and McAfee IntruShield® each placed second in
their respective categories for Channel Product of the Year.
McAfee Total Protection for
Small Business placed first in the Software as a Service category. With this
solution, small businesses can streamline security with a service that
continuously protects systems against emerging threats. It blocks viruses,
spyware, hacker attacks and identity thieves from desktops and servers. Its
management takes place through a central, web-based management console. McAfee
IntruShield the industry's first risk-aware network intrusion prevention
solution tied for second out of 16 in the Security Appliances category. Channel
partners value its protection against known, zero-day, encrypted attacks and
its accuracy and high scalability.
McAfee Host Intrusion
Prevention tied for second in the Security Server Software Products category.
Host IPS protects assets with multiple proven methods, including a Windows
system firewall and both signature and behavioral analysis. With automatic
signature updates and zero-day protection, customers get advanced
vulnerability-shielding capabilities needed to protect desktops and servers
from any threat. McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus placed second for Security Client
Software and far out-scored the products that placed directly behind it.
SiteAdvisor Plus adds safety ratings to search results, email, and instant
messages to actively shield PCs from interacting with dangerous sites.
