Air Deccan India's issued its Monsoon advisory for passengers
intending to travel between June and September.
Given the adverse weather conditions created by the onset and
spread of monsoon in all parts of India between June and September, passengers
may experience disruption in Air Deccan flights' schedules. Unfavorable weather
conditions such as heavy rains, thunderstorms, cyclonic winds, etc, may lead to
flights being delayed, rescheduled, cancelled or diverted to other stations.
Such measures are taken to ensure the safety of all those on board. These are
temporary weather related phenomenon, beyond the airline's control. Passengers
intending to fly in the coming months are likely to be affected and are
therefore strongly advised to check their flight's schedule before leaving for
the airport and to ensure suitable time gap in case of planning to board
connecting flights.
To minimize the impact of possible flight disruptions on its
passengers, Air Deccan has activated a centralized 24 hour Monsoon Response
helpline. The helpline number, which is Line 3 of the IVR at 39008888 (prefix
city code) is displayed on its website www.airdeccan.net. Passengers can now
call the helpline for the latest flight schedules anytime of the day or night.
Regular SMS alerts on possible delays and cancellati0ons will also be sent out
to passengers throughout this period.
In case of unfavorable weather, if an Air Deccan flight is
unable to land at its scheduled destination it will be diverted to another
suitable airport. Passengers will be flown to their destinations at the earliest
and if that is not becoming possible, Air Deccan will fly its passengers back to
the departure station. In case of a flight cancellation, Air Deccan accommodates
its passengers on the next available Air Deccan flight and alternately provides
the option of availing a free reschedule (within one week from the original date
of travel) or a full refund of the booking.
Capt. Preetham Phillip Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Dy.
COO) Air Deccan said, "Air Deccan is geared up to tackle the monsoon. The 4
month monsoon period is expected to adversely impact air transport in all parts
of the country and more so in the coastal destinations. Our priority is to
ensure minimum inconvenience to our passengers and the least disruption in our
operations and flight schedules."
He further added, "We have made systematic arrangements
pertaining to aircraft scheduling and deployment, crew management and
contingency planning among other measures. Likewise arrangements are in place
for providing 24 hour information and regular updates of our flight schedules to
our passengers. Our passengers are duly advised to check their flight status at
least 4 hours to departure. We believe these steps will equip us to tackle the
Monsoon effectively and inconvenience our passengers in the least."
