Henri Giscard d'Estaing, Chairman and CEO of Club Méditerrannée and Stelios, the founder of Easyjet, will make keynote speeches at MIPIM 2007. The high profile duo will underline the fact that the diversification in tourism products is having a knock-on effect for the property business.

Tourism property is expanding rapidly today, especially in Europe . Travelling abroad is far more widespread as a leisure activity, mainly due to the enlargement of the European Union, easy access to online holiday booking services, and the success of the short-trip format.

In response to this environment, tourism property professionals are seeking out new destinations and new concepts to meet the expectations and demands of a constantly changing clientele. They will come and showcase their projects and discuss the issues involved at the 18th MIPIM, to be held March 13-16 in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes .

New destinations are appearing on the European tourism map and competing to capture traveller choices. Bulgaria , which joined the European Union at the beginning of 2007, is attracting a number of tourism projects on its Black Sea coastline and in the Rodopes and Pirin mountain areas. The UK developer Britannia Overseas Property is extensively involved in these regions and will unveil its latest Valentina Heights project located in the Bansko winter resort.

Cyprus is also a constantly growing tourist destination. For the first time, Cypriot developers will exhibit their hotel complex projects at MIPIM. Cybarco PLC will showcase its luxury residences which mostly feature sports clubs, golf courses and spas. Antony Loizou & Associates Chartered Surveyors and Technical Olympic will also be exhibiting.

To meet increasing demand, a broad choice of accommodation is emerging in Europe , offering maximum flexibility to holiday-makers and travellers. Now that Club Mediterranée is setting a new agenda and repositioning its brand, Chairman and CEO Henri Giscard d'Estaing will speak at a conference entitled "Club Med, New Generation". He will talk about his strategy of targeting a new, better-off and more demanding customer. In 2006, he will start re-modelling villages such as the Cervinia site in Italy and the winter sport resorts in France , such as the villages in Val d'Isère and La Plagne.

Stelios, the founder of Easyjet, will speak about his accommodation solution for very tight budgets. EasyHotels has been designed for city centres for customers who put competitive room rates ahead of large sleeping facilities.
