Jeff Green was named senior vice president of McAfee Avert Labs and Product Development. In his new role, Green has worldwide responsibility for McAfee's entire research organization, located throughout the Americas , Europe and Asia . He will oversee research teams focused on viruses, hacker/targeted attacks, spyware, spam, phishing, vulnerabilities and patches, and host and network intrusion technologies.
Green is an industry veteran with over 10 years of experience in software security. He has spent the last seven years with McAfee as senior vice president of product development. During this time, he was instrumental in helping McAfee provide protection to customers when ‘Melissa', the first major email-borne virus, hit and was first to deliver anti-virus gateway appliances. He has also been responsible for delivering the core technology McAfee uses to provide anti-virus and spyware protection to its customers.
McAfee Avert Labs maintains one of the top-ranked security threat and research organizations in the world, employing researchers in 17 cities and 12 countries around the globe. McAfee Avert Labs combine world-class malicious code and anti-virus research with intrusion prevention and vulnerability research expertise.
