Sharpening the Saw continue the conversation. 2 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 1
Recently Businessgyan and TAPMI and organised a seminar on Sharpening the Saw. HR managers shared their experiences on this topic. The interactive discussion still had quite a few questions which needed answers, some are

1) How does one convince top management about the benefits of Continuing Education?
2) How does one find time?
3) Is there a way for organizations to collaborate and have a shared Programme? Who is interested?

This and more can be discussed in this thread.

Have more to discuss just start a new thread.

Sharpening the saw is the key to achieve sustained superior performance. This applies to all verticals in the industry. This is more relavent to cutting edge Industries.

It has to be initiated within individuals and the orginizations will support as they are aware how the organizations get benefitted on the investments. ROI is very high on this than recruiting the new talent and train on the same.

Today companies are hiring for Attitude and raady to train on the skills. This shows organizations looking for people who will come on board with continous learning attitude. Whoever has this attitude defenetly find the time as well organizations are ready to allow grant leave without pay loss.

Once the individuals experience personnel/professional satifaction followed by economic gain, people will automatically find the time from their priorities.

If you observe Fortune 500 companies, they allocate good amount of budgets and encourage people to choose their interest in line with company _object_ives to get trained.

This attitude of continous learning made people to reach highest positions without any additional university qualifications.

Globally no one ahieved their dreams without sharpening their skills/saw. Due to higher ROI (Return on Investment) companies are tieing up with insitutions to train their people on their interest skills. This trend is growing in multi fold.
